The vehicle does not travel back and forth and will be garaged here in NV. He has given me permission to use the vehicle for my daily 30 mile commute. We live in Texas, I'm looking for health insurance for our 5 year old daughter. My husband has coverage through his employer and I have the option of being covered under his plan as well. Just from some light browsing on the internet, it seems like they (the advertisers/car manufacturers) want us to believe that $30k is a reasonable median cost for a new car in the U.S. The price goes up disporportionately if they can call it a 'crossover' or the holy grail: SUV!!! $$$$$$$$ Assuming a person makes around $50k a year gross/ $30k a year net (is that a reasonable assumption for the U.S.?), and assuming the car will be worth close to $0 in 5 years, a $30k car works out to be around 20% of his or her income, not including gas repairs insurance et cetera. Is this reasonable? Is it sustainable? Are we heading for a 'correction' in auto pricing? or is the plan that we all just use financing tricks to perpetuate these exhorbitant prices?

I have never filed a claim, but recently requested some insurance record from them. Even though I am not their customer anymore (currently do not own a car), they still were very helpful on the phone, sent me the requested letter immediately and even did a follow up on it. I think they are awesome. Who had similar experience with them or any other company? PS - I am not a GEICO employer :))

Why does car insurance suck for a 19 year old guy in Ny.?

Anyone think its ridiculous I had to pay like 430 for car insurance this month. I've been driving for over a year and I know it doesn't lower till your like mid TWENTIES! But it's bullshit , my car is old and I haven't gotten a ticket or gotten into an accident so I don't understand. What the f**k is a renewal anyway! And I hear it's more for guys my age even though it's pretty much a joke and a fact that girls are shittier drivers though you get the pinky dick guys with the supposedly fast cars that crash them trying to be a badass. Car Insurance is ran by the rich who can care less about people's safety and they are able to bend the laws to they're benefit so they make more profit. Revolting isn't it?

2 persons came to look my car for buying purpose. 1 of them was standing in front of my car and other just opened the door and turned the ignation on. the car was in gear so jumped up and hit the person standing in front of the car. man got stuck between my car and the other parked in front of my car and broke his leg. police and ambulance came. they took our statement and did not say anything to me but had separate discussionn with the othee person for long time. my question will this effect my by any mean legally? my car did not have insurance but no body drove the car either. i mean I am really scared what gonna happen to me I don't know if I shall keep trying selling my car or wait until hear from police. thanks

How to get a car which is inbound because car was without insurance?

There is an awareness issue of , we didnt have car insurance . but yesterday I got to know that its illegal to drive a car without insurance. The understanding was that it would be dangerous but illegal was new thing. From yesterday we are trying to get insurance but they are saying that it is not possible to get insurance for inbound car. We can get insurance after release of the car but now we are stucked .Because police is not releasing car without insurance. We don't know anybody here so facing little problem.

I'm thinking about replacing my current car on which I currently have liability insurance through Progressive. There are two things I'd like to know that I've have trouble figuring out on their website. First, if I replace the car and now only have one car will the old insurance still be applicable to it? If so, for how long and is it equal in liability coverages? Second, if I keep the car I have now so when I buy the new one I have two cars then would the liability cover both?
